Would you Fork & Dig it?

Viv from our community plots at the Weald Allotment site gives us an update on work that BHOGG is doing in partnership to tackle food growing during Covid-19.

This was a beautiful moment.  Jools from Fork & Dig It handing over approx 200 organic plug plants to Alan from Brighton and Hove Organic Gardening Group (BHOGG).

Many community growing projects were not able to access their plots or host the volunteers needed to grow food during lockdown. So thanks to #VegCities we asked Fork & Dig It to grow extra seedlings ready for community projects to get in the ground when they can.  The caveat: the projects need to ‘Grow an Extra Row’ and in this case, for the Weald Community Fridge.

This was the moment 2 keen organic growers met in Stanmer Organics. Happy growing BHOGG and thank you to Fork and Dig it for supporting fellow growers.

Don’t forget you can still share your excess produce with any of the food and growing gropus across the city.  Check out Brighton & Hove Food Partnership for details on where to donate.
