Brighton and Hove Wins First UK Gold Sustainable Place Award

New Chair, Viv, has this update on our fruitful collaboration with Brighton & Hove Food Partnership

Congratulations to Brighton and Hove Food Partnership who successfully co-ordinated the bid, building on a silver award in 2015. We are very fortunate to have such a pioneering, passionate and proactive organisation in our city that truly delivers. They have done a wonderful job inspiring individuals and organisations across the city and beyond to take a pro-active role on a wide range of food issues. Their leading role during the current pandemic has ensured that a wide range of food services have reached the people who needed them the most. You can read details of their bid here.

BHOGG is delighted to have played a small part in obtaining this award, promoting organic gardening in the city through practical “grow your own” courses talks and information on social media (including this website). Our organic community allotment and urban garden regularly welcomes volunteers from all ages and background. We are SO looking forward to welcoming everybody back as soon as we are able. Hopefully for the spring growing season.  Fingers crossed.
